Author uses ~ 70 pages to make his point with each chapter focusing on a specific aspect. You will learn a major key point:
J.A.K.E. = Junk Always Kills Effectiveness
Many self help or organization books waste 400 pages telling you something that could be edited down to 50 pages. This book is concise and helpful.
So so book...

Bought both How to de-junk Your Life and How to Stay de-junked Forever and they are ok books and best for the novice since they ask a lot of questions and have scads of questionnaires and 'to do' lists. But I was looking for more of a book that was more zen in style and attitude.
On page 90 where she discusses garages and sheds the author notes 'At the risk of appearing sexist, in my experience, garages and sheds are scary places created mostly by men....' Yikes. Obviously she never stopped to consider that the book may be bought by people outside Great Britain, like Americans.
My shed is my domain and where I work on seedlings and store my best garden tools. Its my place. My garage is my domain and where work out equipment is used and for many Americans also where the laundry area is.
On page 93 the author notes 'The great thing about kitchen clutter us that it doesn't usually hold any emotional attachments. What??? Maybe in her world but not here in the states where most kitchen I have been in that seem cluttered are thus so because of the drawing on the refrigerator that the kids made that hold great emotional attachment, along with the plants on the counters or window sills that were gifts, along with a plethora of mugs of all shapes and sizes, usually gifts or items picked up while on holiday.
But aside from all this, the book does have some useful information.
