I received this as a Christmas gift, and commenced reading it that night. It was pretty good, actually; good enough to make me want to read more KEW, especially the book that inspired this, The Flame & The FLower. Cerynise was rather weak for a typical KEW heroine, but Beau was the star of this book anyway. He embodies the swashbuckling pirate! All I can say is that if I were Cerynise, I would have made sure that Beau made a repeat performance much sooner than he did.... to leave no doubt as to whether their passionate encounter on the ship was a dream or reality.
